50-year-old identified as pedestrian fatally struck by state trooper on N.J. highway

The pedestrian killed last week after he was hit by a marked State Police vehicle on Route 1 in South Brunswick was identified late Tuesday as a 50-year-old Plainsboro man, authorities said.

Donelle Miles was hit at 5:55 a.m. on Nov. 11 on the southbound side of the highway near Raymond Road, according to a statement from Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone. Miles was pronounced dead at the scene.

It remains unclear if the trooper that struck Miles was on-duty or responding to a call as no other details were released by the office, which has taken over the investigation.
