The Mysterious Benedict Society Season 2 Greenlit At Disney+

The Mysterious Benedict Society returns for season 2 on Disney+ after a successful first season with Tony Hale starring in two lead roles.

The Mysterious Benedict Society has officially been renewed for season 2. The Disney+ TV show is based on a book series of the same name written by Trenton Lee Stewart. The first book of the series was published in 2007 and has five novels in its collection, with the latest being published in 2019. The series stars the same four gifted orphans that the novel follows, played by Seth Carr, Emmy DeOliveira, Mystic Inscho, and Marta Timofeeva.

Disney+ has officially announced that The Mysterious Benedict Society will be back for a second season on the streaming platform. Production is set to begin in early 2022, which means viewers can likely expect season 2 to hit Disney+ in late 2022. Starring as both Mr. Benedict and Mr. Curtain, Tony Hale is excited for the series to return. He called working on the project “an absolute thrill” and thanked Disney and the show’s fans for “the opportunity to keep telling this incredible story.” The show’s writers, Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, and showrunners, Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavin, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to keep telling the show’s story.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to continue our journey into Trenton Lee Stewart’s witty, warm and wonderful world in a second season of The Mysterious Benedict Society. This has already been such a special experience, thanks to our remarkable cast and collaborators.”

In regards to the storyline, season 2 will pick up a year after Mr. Benedict assembled the orphans together and sent them on their first mission to stop his evil twin brother, Mr. Curtain’s, “Emergency.” One year later, Mr. Curtain has crafted another scheme, this time with even higher stakes, and the children must unite to stop him once again.

Based on the best-selling book series by Trenton Lee Stewart, The Mysterious Benedict Society series follows four gifted orphans who are recruited by the eccentric Mr. Benedict.
